Donna is now semi-retired and living in the south Okanagan area of BC Canada. She has 60 years of experience as a yoga and meditation teacher and was a founding member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She has developed an original approach to yoga therapy which she wrote about in Psoma Yoga Therapy, available through Amazon. Donna uses “embodied mindfulness” to support clients and students on a healing journey of self-awareness. The approach is gentle, respectful, and collaborative, while being powerfully transformative.
Donna recently retired after thirty years as an international Hakomi trainer. She worked closely with Ron Kurtz (the creator of the Hakomi Method) for more than twenty years. and was named in his will as a "legacy holder" of his work. She has led retreats and trainings throughout Canada and the United States, Hawaii, Japan, Europe, Indonesia, Israel, South America, Taiwan, and Mexico. Her book Embodied Mindfulness: the Hakomi Way was published in Spanish (Mindfulness en el Cuerpo). Donna is the co-author of the Practice of Loving Presence with Ron Kurtz.
Donna also worked with Dr Paul Brenner (Health is a Question of Balance, and Buddha in the Waiting Room. Together they wrote a book about relationships called Seeing Your Life Through New Eyes. Her recent book, Your Heart's Path to Partnering, is a new version of that way of understanding and healing adult relationships.

Donna can be available for private online consultations and for speaking engagements online or in person.
Donna Martin is a rare healer. From an ordinary perspective she is both an accomplished yoga teacher and a senior Hakomi trainer, and she writes about the synthesis of these two body-centered approaches in Psoma Yoga. But these conventional designations do not capture the essence of Donna’s real gift. She has the uncommon capacity to assist people in reclaiming something essential and precious — their full humanity. Many practitioners use mindfulness and body awareness to support people in waking up to their engrained habits which have become the source of unnecessary suffering. Donna is certainly skillful in the use of these approaches, but she makes an elegant turn that is truly remarkable. She does not just work with the body, she is able to gently work from the inside out, from the source of deep embodiment, to call forward a person’s wholeness, their full aliveness, and this is the essential gift and grace she offers us in Psoma and PsomaYoga. ~ Flint Sparks
